![]() | Gary Mottola Prior to joining Madison Marquette, Gary was a partner for over 20 years at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, specializing in real estate. While there, he represented numerous financial institutions, joint ventures, and real estate companies in equity and debt financings, real estate development, acquisitions, and sales, both in the United States and abroad. During this time, Gary also served as an outside advisor to the formation of Madison Marquette and for all of the company's initial strategic activities. |
![]() | Peter Jun As Chief Operating Officer of Madison Marquette, Mr. Jun is responsible for determining the company's strategy and organization, managing the execution of the company-wide initiatives for achieving strategic growth, and overseeing the overall corporate operations and administration. Mr. Jun was a key advisor to the Madison Marquette Board and the CEO before joining the executive team in 2007. Mr. Jun holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Yale School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. |

![]() | Patrick Walmsley As Managing Director based in Los Angeles and New York, Mr. Walmsley is responsible for sourcing property acquisitions and new business development activities throughout the United States. He has overseen approximately $15 billion in property transactions over his 17-year career in commercial real estate. |
![]() | David Brainerd Managing Director, Property Investments Mr. Brainerd is a Managing Director, responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and closing property acquisitions and overseeing investment management and disposition of owned properties. Mr. Brainerd also manages relationships with existing equity partners and has supervised investments representing over 2.5 million square feet of shopping centers, 1.4 million square feet of office space, and approximately 7,000 acres of land for Madison Marquette and while serving as a Senior Vice President for Capital Guidance. Mr. Brainerd began his career with the Mortgage-Backed Securities team of First Boston Corporation's Real Estate Finance Group. He was responsible for the underwriting of large Portfolios of commercial and residential mortgage loans for purchase and securitization by the firm. Mr. Brainerd brings 19 years of industry experience, and has been involved in real estate investment transactions with an aggregate value of $1.5 billion. Mr. Brainerd holds a Masters degree in Management from the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, where he serves as Vice Chair of the Commercial and Retail Development Council (Silver Flight), and the International Council of Shopping Centers. |
![]() | Jay Lask Mr. Lask also spent 16 years with Lend Lease Real Estate Investments in progressively responsible positions, most recently as Chief Retail Acquisition Officer. He brings 21 years of experience in real estate investment and has completed real estate transactions with an aggregate value of $1.5 billion. Mr. Lask holds a Masters of Business Administration from Emory University and a Bachelors degree in Urban Planning from the University of Cincinnati. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. |

Mr. Hohmann holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (Finance) from the John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California at Los Angeles and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the International Council of Shopping Centers. |
![]() | Greg Bergan He began his shopping center career with Dayton Hudson Properties, later becoming Vice President of Operations for The Center Companies and Senior Vice President for General Growth Management. His 25 years of experience also includes the management of over 18 million square feet of shopping center renovation projects with budgets totaling more than $120 million. Mr. Bergan is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) serving on its faculty board as well as numerous panels and committees. He has also been a frequent guest curriculum lecturer at several colleges and universities, including the University of Minnesota, University of North Dakota and Georgia Tech. |

We identified an opportunity to acquire a vacant department store in Westwood Village, a well-situated community adjacent to the UCLA campus. We earned approval from the community and embarked on a major redevelopment that transformed the space while preserving its historic façade. The new national credit tenants signed long-term leases and sparked a retail revival for the surrounding area.
