The Wharf is now a 3.2 million square foot mixed-use neighborhood spanning 27-acres, along a mile of waterfront in SW Washington D.C. The project combines 1,500 residential units, 800,000 square feet of office, The Hilton Canopy, The Hyatt and the Intercontinental Hotels, and over 300,000 square feet of retail and entertainment. The Anthem, a 57,000 square foot music hall and event center, anchors the project’s entertainment offerings, while cobblestone walkways, a seasonal ice rink, and a 500-slip marina play host to several community events and engagement throughout the year.
The Wharf is energized by a curated collection of Washington’s most celebrated chefs, cultural institutions and newly conceptualized entertainment venues. Anthem has hosted weekly sell-out crowds since opening last year, while the iconic independent bookstore, Politics & Prose hosts book signings every week. Featuring a fish market, a rum distillery, Fabio Trabocchi’s Del Mar, and Nick Stefanelli’s three-story Italian food hall Officina, the Wharf is one of the Mid-Atlantic’s premier food and entertainment destinations, which has led to an insatiable demand for the office, multifamily and hospitality on site. The neighborhood also benefits from public transit access via water taxis, as well as a new green space connecting the Wharf to L’Enfant Plaza.
