President, Property Services, West
As President of Property Services for Madison Marquette’s Western Region, Jim Proehl is responsible for managing a portfolio of over 15 million square feet in 11 western states with a staff of over 125 real estate professionals. Prior to the June 2018 merger of PMRG and Madison Marquette, Mr. Proehl was President of PMRG's Western Division where he was responsible for property services operations for the West Coast.
Jim has over 35 years of diversified real estate experience in asset management, development, finance and property management. His success coordinating the repositioning of numerous projects and transitioning large multi-building portfolios in his 24 years with PMRG has helped fuel growth of property services in the region.
Prior to joining PMRG, Mr. Proehl held the position of Development Manager for Tooley & Company, where he managed the development of two high-rise Class A office buildings, each in excess of 400,000 square feet. As a Senior Asset Manager with Metropolitan Life, he managed a Colorado and Kansas commercial real estate portfolio valued at over $300 million, including office buildings, hotels and retail centers.
Jim began his real estate career at Williams Realty Corporation, where he was an Associate Development Director with responsibilities for coordinating the legal, planning, financial, design and construction management for two mixed-use projects in Kansas City and San Antonio. In addition to his development experience at Williams, Mr. Proehl gained a thorough understanding of the financial reporting requirements of publicly traded companies.
Jim is a past National Board member of NAIOP and a past President of NAIOP SoCal. Mr. Proehl is currently on the Advisory Board of BOMA OC and is a Charter Member of the University of California, Irvine MBA mentorship program.
Mr. Proehl holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Tulsa with an emphasis in real estate and a bachelor’s degree from Southeast Missouri State University.
