Custom Solution

This center was very outdated, and securing long-term leases was challenging. Madison Marquette stepped in to help establish Issaquah Commons as a premier community center to the surrounding locals. We emphasized maintaining the appearance and ambiance of the center to attract new customers, while encouraging current customers to remain loyal. Additionally, we strived to strategically cultivate a culture for cross-shopping, thereby increasing the value of the property.

Local Execution

Madison Marquette coordinated the reimaging of the 10-year-old exterior storefronts in 2005, which included adding new amenities and changing the color palette to a more contemporary look. This increased the branding opportunities for retailers and enhanced the marketability of the property. Madison Marquette also established a strong partnership with community nonprofit organizations and local schools. The final course of action was to provide professional tenant coordination services for the shopping center.

Proven Results

By implementing leasing strategies for strong national, regional and local merchants such as Chico’s, Massage Envy and REI, center sales grew more than 100 percent over a three-year period. Madison Marquette also successfully managed budgeted expenses, reducing controllable, recoverable expenses.
