MM Appoints Marketing and Communications Head

Madison Marquette, one of the nation’s largest privately held commercial real estate investment and operating companies, announced today that Gayle J. Matthei has joined the firm as Managing Director, Marketing and Communications.  In this corporate role, Ms. Matthei reports directly to the company’s President, John Fleury, and will be responsible for leading strategic marketing, brand management and corporate communications. Gayle will be based at the firm’s Washington, D.C., headquarters.

Gayle brings over 20 years of experience as a senior marketing, communications and business development professional with a track record of success building brands and supporting revenue growth in top ranked commercial real estate companies.  She has served public and private regional, domestic and global firms with annual revenues ranging from $30 million to over $3 billion.  Ms. Matthei recently served as Chief Marketing Officer for Cassidy Turley, where she took on the role at brand launch in 2010.  She successfully developed and executed the marketing, corporate communications and public relations strategy that effectively drove brand reputation, quickly establishing the full-service commercial real estate services firm as an industry leader. She served the company through its 2015 merger with DTZ and subsequent combination with Cushman & Wakefield.

Previously based In New York City, Gayle’s experience in commercial real estate includes senior marketing, business development and account management positions with Insignia/ESG, CBRE and Grubb & Ellis. She began her career marketing mixed-use urban redevelopment projects in central New Jersey.  Most recently, Gayle was EVP, Strategy and Marketing for VIVA Creative, a Metro DC-based experiential marketing firm, where she served a diverse mix of domestic and global client accounts.

Gayle is an active member of CoreNet Global and CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) and has served as a mentor in CREW’s successful “Bridging the C-Suite Gap,” mentoring program.  A past Trustee for the College of New Jersey, she presently serves on the Board of Coro Leadership Center in New York City.  She earned a BA in International Relations at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD and previously served as a licensed real estate broker in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

MM Appoints New Vice President of Asset Management for the Wharf

Madison Marquette is pleased to announce the appointment of Toks Ladejobi as Vice President of Asset Management for the Wharf D.C. Mr. Ladejobi will be responsible for Phase 1 of The Wharf, which features over 2 million square feet including three hotels, two office buildings, apartments, condos, Anthem music hall, outdoor green space and a waterfront promenade. Ladejobi brings over 15 years of experience in asset management and strategic development for complex multi-billion dollar commercial, mixed-use, office, and hotel properties in New York City and Washington D.C.

“I’m delighted to bring such a strong asset management background to the Madison portfolio,” said John Fleury, President, Madison Marquette.  “With his extensive investment experience across the industry from hotel and retail to office and mixed-use, Mr. Ladejobi is well-positioned to bring his extensive strategic vision in property valuation to Phase 1 of the Wharf.”

Prior to joining Madison Marquette, Mr. Ladejobi was Vice President, Investments and Asset Management for MacFarlane Partners where he oversaw a portfolio of 26 Washington D.C. area multifamily, office, hotel and land properties valued at $1.4 billion. In this role, he managed land acquisition, development and pre-TOPA disposition of a 307 unit mixed-use property.

He served as a Senior Associate, Loan Modification and Asset Management for CW Capital where he led the business strategy for properties in the western U.S. and was responsible for dispositions of a five million SF portfolio valued at $450 million. Previous roles include Senior Associate at Prudential Real Estate Investors, Harris Williams & Co. and J.P. Morgan Securities.

Mr. Ladejobi received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Morehouse College with a degree in Business Administration. He is a board member of Bread for the City and the Anna Julia Cooper School.
